Editor's Notes:
Hello everybody! Welcome to our fourth edition of the Amazing Kids! eZine!

The Amazing Kids! eZine's Editor-in-Chief, Alexandra, will fly off to her freshman year of college this fall and leave the eZine in need of a new Editor-in-Chief. If you are at least fourteen, and less than nineteen, and love to write and edit, we hope you will consider applying for the position. Working as Editor-in-Chief is loads of fun, though it does require a lot of time, especially in the beginning. The Editor-in-Chief plans each issue, helps kids with their writing, edits all work, selects the assistant editors, and works closely with them. The Editor-in-Chief also helps judge contests. (Don¹t worry. Alexandra will be available via email to answer questions and give guidance to the eZine's new captain, as will the Amazing Kids! President, Alyse Rome.) If you are interested in becoming our next Editor-in-Chief, please send an e-mail to Alyse Rome at info@amazing-kids.org and include sample ideas for an eZine issue and at least one example of your writing.

Notes From the Editor:

What impresses me most about the writers in this issue is that each wrote a piece that entertains and contains life lessons. Try to make what you write fun to read. Grab someone's attention with it. Once that attention is held an author can open up whole new worlds of thought for the reader. A writer's job is hard, but writing can bring immeasurable joy. When the drafting gets tough, don't give up.

A female writer said on a radio interview recently that she re-wrote one chapter in her book thirty-four times. I have heard a rumor that Hemingway, a very famous writer, edited a chapter fifty-four times. Kurt Vonnegut Jr., another famous writer, papered his apartment with rejection slips from editors refusing to publish his work. Then he made it big. They worked hard in the face of seeming disaster, but in the end it was worth the struggle. Kurt Vonnegut's ideas will be discussed for many years to come. Through writing, you can change the world.

On that note, anyone who wants help with their writing can email me directly at alexandratoumanoff@hotmail.com, whether you are interested in publication in the Amazing Kids! eZine or just in receiving suggestions. Have a great summer, and don't stop writing!
