"Hmm," I think as I ponder what my future holds.  My future should probably be centered on something I enjoy doing, or something that I do well.  Therefore, I have decided that when I am older, I want to be a dog trainer.  All my life, I have loved dogs, and working with dogs and being around them is something that I enjoy doing.

Looking further into the topic, I believe I will work for The Seeing Eye.  The Seeing Eye is a school for dogs, and the seeing-impaired, to learn to work together.  The ultimate goal is to train the dog to be the blind person's eyes.  Training these dogs is hard work, and intense, but that is what I would like to do.  The trainers need to teach the dogs to disobey their master's command if they believe any harm will come of it, to ignore all distractions, and to be aware of their surroundings.  Training takes a lot of effort, but in the end, it can be rewarding.

By training these dogs to care for a blind person, I would be helping the community, giving the blind their independence.  Doing things for others makes me feel good about the work I've done.  Not being self-centered can help make my life happier while also making someone else's life better.

It is important to being thinking about my future now, because the future lies in my hands.  My future depends on what I decide, not what my teachers or my parents or friends tell me to do.  When I'm older, I will have complete control of my future.  The future can sometimes hold amazing and unexpected things, so I need to start preparing for them now.
