Celebrating the Achievements of ChildrenTM

Amanda M., age 10, Missouri City, Texas
"My Amazing Future" Essay Winner, age 9-10 category!

In the future, I want to be a teacher.  I know I am only ten years old, but there are many reasons why you should start thinking about what you want to be when you grow up, while you are still young.

One reason is so that you will have an idea of what it is going to be like when you are an adult.  You can learn just from watching your own teacher.  That way, if you end up becoming a teacher, you will have some experience in it.

I will be helpful and giving to others by educating people's children in fun ways that they enjoy and I will be very kind towards them.  I will help make the world a better place by giving children a great education.  I will also teach them about drug safety, friendship, responsibility, self discipline, and honesty.

Starting now, I can do a few things to make my dream come true.  I can play school with my friends and siblings to know what it is like, know what kids like and don't like, and decide if whether or not I really do want to be a teacher.  That is my amazing future.
