Pocantico Hills School is nestled in the quaint
community of Pocantico Hills, New York.
We are a school district of about 325 students from
Pre-Kindergarten to 8th grade. There are two heterogeneously mixed sections
of each grade pre-K through grade 5. The Middle School (Grades 6-8) is
departmentalized with heterogeneously mixed classes.
Seventh and eighth grade students have the opportunity
for accelerated courses in math and science. All students, unless exempt,
are accelerated in languages. Special class instruction includes art, technology,
home and career skills, music, physical education, and computer. Three
special education teachers are available for the student population. Remedial
reading/Reading Recovery is available in the elementary grades.
Speech & hearing and counseling services are
available to individuals and to groups. French and Spanish are taught beginning
in grade 5. Instrumental music instruction begins in Grade 4. Guidance,
psychological and ESL services are also available. |
