Quotes of the Month |

"I have
learned not to take things for granted. To see the needs of others like
this has made me a stronger and better person.” Princess
Walker, age 11, 4
Part Angel
Jackson, Mississippi "“It
makes me feel good to know that I have helped out with Hurricane Relief
by doing concerts. I now know how it feels to be the one helping others
and the one who needs help since I lost everything in the storm. When
we sing “Thank You” in one of our songs, I think about how thankful I
am to have received so much help from others.” Kiki Dedeaux, age 12,
4
Part Angel “Get
involved with your community, there is always help needed somewhere and
it will be very rewarding…But, don’t be afraid to strike out on your
own and work hard to develop your talents.” Savee
Dalgo, age 11, 4
Part Angel “My
advice is to stick with your goals and never give up. Since I was also
a victim of Hurricane Katrina, I know that so much was needed and all
help was really appreciated. So, never think that what you’re doing is
not enough.” Michelle DeFraites, age 12, 4

USING
THEIR TALENTS TO HELP OTHERS When
Hurricane Katrina hit the Mississippi Gulf Coast, 25 feet of floodwater
rushed into Pass Chistian, Mississippi, most of the people in the town
lost everything they owned. That included the families of two friends
in a 4 girl singing group called 4
Part Angel, which includes four girls, ages 11 and 12, who are
best friends: Michelle (age 12), Kiki (age 12),
Savee (age 11) and Princess (age 11), Pass Christian is the hometown of
Michelle and Kiki. Like most of the town members, their families lost
everything they owned in the flooding. Nearly one year later, one of the friends
is still living in a FEMA trailer, waiting for her home to be
rebuilt. Not willing
to let the hurricane damage their spirits, the four friends got
together to plan a way that they could do something to help their
community and others affected by the hurricane. The girls decided
to use their talents in singing and dancing to raise money for
hurricane relief.
The girls
rallied together and began organizing hurricane relief
concerts across Mississippi. The group’s goal is to use their music to
help hurricane victims forget about the long road ahead, even if just
for a minute.
The group
has been getting
national recognition for their efforts, and were guests on ABC’s “Good
Morning America,” where they performed their Katrina tribute song
called “That’s All Right, That’s OK.” In July, after 6 months of
hard
work in the studio, they released a DVD music video and their “On the
Radio” CD, which is being sold at Wal-Mart stores.
The girls
have spent their summer break performing for the “Be An Angel
Tour” to continue raising money for hurricane relief and to spread the
word that help is still needed on the Gulf Coast. To listen
to their music and find out how you can help join their hurricane
relief efforts, visit the 4 Part Angel website at: www.4partangel.com Amazing
Kids! wishes you continued success, 4 Part Angel! |
