Kids! of the Month
Amazing Kids! is proud to highlight the Amazing Kids! of the Month!
Each month, we showcase kids who are accomplishing amazing things. We hope that by telling their special stories, we will inspire other kids to accomplish their own amazing achievements.
Amazing Kids! of the Month for December, 2000:
Amazing Young Artists from the International Communication of Children Artists Club (ICCAC), Hong Kong!
Quote of the month:
"The main goal of the ICCAC club is to let children living in different countries express and share their feelings and wonderful ideas with each other through pictures. The visual arts (pictures) can overcome the problems of language, goegraphic barrier and cultural gap. In addition, chldren also develop friendships with peers from other coutnries and are able to learn how to appreciate and accept the culture of different countries."
Vion Choy, founder and Club chairwoman,
This month, Amazing Kids! is proud to feature the amazing artistic talent of the young artists from the International Communication of Children Artists Club (ICCAC)! Children from countries across Asia are members of this fun and creative club. The young artists share and exchange their beautiful artwork with other children from around the world!
Amazing Kids! was fortunate to receive some of their art for a special International Art Exchange we are conducting between the amazing young artists of ICCAC and the young artists (mostly American) featured in the Amazing Artists! Gallery on the Amazing Kids! website (www.amazing-kids.org/gallery.html)!
Amazing Kids! and ICCAC are planning to co-sponsor a special Earth Day Art Contest for kids in March, 2001! The winning drawings will appear in a special International Exhibition in Hong Kong, presented at the Hong Kong Cultural Center in the summer of 2001! The Story of ICCAC
ICCAC (the International Communication of Children Artists Club) was founded in Hong Kong in 1996 by Vion Choy, a talented and caring young artist. Vion wanted to create an organization where children of all cultures and nations could communicate with one another and express themselves through art. Kids of all ages, from age 4 and older, participate.
The first exhibition was held in 1996 Shizuoka City, Japan at the Nishina City Hall. There were 80 pictures by the young artists of the Club. Since that time ICCAC's talented young artists have shown their work side by side with children's art from Australia, Brazil, China, Germany, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Japan, Thailand, and the United States!
