1. Name two amazing things about Nellie Bly.
-
She proved that she could write for a newspaper!
-
She helped homeless children.
2. Why do you think they were amazing?
People told her that she couldn't do it because she was a female.
Those people were wrong. She never stopped trying and she succeeded.
Instead of being selfish, she assisted in providing food, medicine
and shelter to those in need. She set a great example for others
in doing this act.
3. Think about one amazing thing you would
like to do in your life. Describe what it is, and why you want to
do it.
I would one day like to accomplish the amazing feat of working towards
finding a cure for cancer. With so much pollution and racial strife
getting media attention, it seems that the world has forgotten that everyday,
someone's grandmother, or mother, or sister is taken from us. When
someone is diagnosed with cancer, I want to be the one who gives them the
brightest hope...not for just controlling it with treatments...but a complete
cure. That would be the most amazing thing I could ever hope to do.
