"Jelleto the CD Jellyfish"
The
plush toy I have created is a jellyfish. His head--the part that
looks like a hamburger bun--is made of iridescent material. His
eyes are stuck into the head (so they can't and won't come off) and are
hard plastic, beady eyes located very close together. The wavy,
wild blue material just below his head is an elastic-like flexible
material. The layer just underneath that is a sheer material that
is almost completely see-through. The layer directly under that
is a sheer but silk-like, pink material so that all of the tentacles
underneath can be seen. The long legs below are made of a
combination of materials. The fat multi-colored ones are simply
made of double-backed fleece (each a different color as shown in the
diagram). The twisty and curly blue ones are made of stretched
out but durable blue elastic to get the wavy and curly
appearance. Jelleto's head is about 5 inches in width and his
longest tentacles are about 1 foot, starting from where they connect to
his head.
Unlike many stuffed toys, this jellyfish has a unique function.
If you turn him around and look at the base of the back of his head,
you will see two narrow slits (as shown in the diagram above) with a
Vecro flap that covers them. Jelleto's head is about the same
size (in width) as a CD (so you can imagine what fits inside of
him.) Separating the two slots is a thin, shatterproof piece of
plastic covered by soft cloth to protect the CD's from
scratching. Each slot has room for one CD. When each slot
is filled, the Velcro flap closes. It protects and keeps the CD's
from falling out. So, my stuffed toy is "Jelleto--the CD
Jellyfish" because he stores and protects CDs.
My toy would be for ages 8 and up. This cool jellyfish should be
fun and safe at the same time and it can be useful (for those who know
how to use it.)
