Amazing
Poets
|
|
Kurt,
age 10,
Denver, Colorado
|
Read this
beautiful poem by Kurt, an amazing bright young 10 year old poet, with
a great imagination, who is originally from Canada.
Sadly, Kurt
lost his father at the age of 6, when his father died of cancer.
Have you, or perhaps someone you know, lost someone you loved very
much?
If so, maybe reading Kurt's poem will help you feel better, knowing
that
you're not alone.
Writing can help us feel better during difficult times, as
it helps us express our emotions and thoughts which we may not be able
to express any other way. Who knows? Maybe Kurt's poem will
inspire you to start writing your own poems.
Kurt has
missed his father very much. When his teacher asked his class to
write a poem about something they are thankful for, he wrote this one
instead.

I AM
by Kurt, age 10
Denver, Colorado
I am an unfortunate boy
who's dad died.
I wonder why there is no air in
space.
I hear the cry of one thousand
citizens.
I see a giant crowd cheering for
me.
I am an unfortunate boy who's
dad died.
I pretend I have beautiful
white wings and
I soar over
everyone.
I feel like nobody likes
me.
I touch my dad when I feel sad
or scared.
I worry that I will die like my
dad.
I cry when I think about my
dad.
I am an unfortunate boy who's
dad died.
I understand what it feels like to loose someone you love.
I say heaven does
exist.
I dream I have beautiful white
wings and I
soar over
everyone.
I try to be athletic, but it
never works.
I hope the world never
ends.
I am an unfortunate boy who's
dad died.
