A Magic Moment
by Lindsey, age 11
Morgan Hill, California
One sunny night, I was swimming in the
grass. Above my head was my bed
and a bowling ball which rolled down the street.
Slowly I walked faster
than the bowling ball could roll. I
stopped and flew into the sky with the sun, stars, and moon.
Once I got to Pluto, I stopped to have a drink. The lemonade I had
was
tasteless and as sweet as sugar. I flew
up and on, away, out of the galaxy. Then I fell. I fell higher
than anyone has ever fallen before.
It was a world record. Everyone booed me on as I bowed with sorrow.
I
prayed to God that when I awoke that my dreams
would be filled with cows
that were pink and pigs that flew around the
sink. I'll link my Mink to
a new canoe and we will sail to Malibu.
It was a magic moment.
