Amazing Writers

Lindsey, age 11, Morgan Hill, California

Lindsey is in Mrs. Mee's 6th grade class at Encinal Elementary School in Morgan Hill, California.  She wrote the following fun "nonsense poem."  See how many nonsensical things you can find in her funny poem!

A Magic Moment by Lindsey, age 11 Morgan Hill, California  One sunny night, I was swimming in the grass.  Above my head was my bed and a bowling ball which rolled down the street.  Slowly I walked faster than the bowling ball could roll.  I stopped and flew into the sky with the sun, stars, and moon.          Once I got to Pluto, I stopped to have a drink.  The lemonade I had was tasteless and as sweet as sugar.  I flew up and on, away, out of the galaxy.  Then I fell.  I fell higher than anyone has ever fallen before.          It was a world record.  Everyone booed me on as I bowed with sorrow.  I prayed to God that when I awoke that my dreams would be filled with cows that were pink and pigs that flew around the sink.  I'll link my Mink to a new canoe and we will sail to Malibu.  It was a magic moment.
